An Italian journalist has been beneath arrest in Iran for greater than every week, Italy’s international ministry has mentioned.

Italy’s international ministry revealed that Rome’s ambassador in Tehran, Paola Amadei, had visited her to examine on her detention circumstances, including that she had been allowed to make two cellphone calls to her household.

It additionally mentioned Italy “has been working with Iranian authorities to make clear Cecilia Sala’s authorized scenario”.

Italy’s Defence Minister Giudo Crosetto mentioned that her arrest was “unacceptable” in a put up on social media, including that Italy was utilizing “high-level political and diplomatic motion” to attempt to safe her launch.
