Iranian state media shared an image of the bus crash, which has killed at the least 28 individuals

A bus carrying Pakistani pilgrims has overturned in Iran, killing at the least 28 passengers, Iranian state media reviews.

The crash occurred on Tuesday evening within the central Iranian province of Yazd and was as a consequence of a faulty braking system, Reuters reported, citing a preliminary police investigation.

One other 23 passengers have been injured, 14 of them critically, Pakistan’s ambassador to Iran Muhammad Mudassir Tipu instructed the BBC.

The pilgrims have been travelling from the Sindh province in Pakistan to Iraq’s holy metropolis of Karbala to commemorate one of many greatest occasions within the Shia calendar.

Pakistan’s President Asif Ali Zardari mentioned he was mobilising the overseas ministry to repatriate the our bodies of these killed within the crash and supply support to the injured.
