Belarusian and Russian forces are participating in joint manoeuvres some 45 miles (72km) from Minsk as a part of the Zapad 2025 (West 2025) navy drills.
The international locations say the operations are “purely defensive in nature” however they arrive at a tense time, with Russian drones getting into Nato territory and the conflict between Russia and Ukraine raging, as Steve Rosenberg experiences.
