Like a lot of you, I’ve got a lot of charging solutions in my kit. Wall chargers, battery backup options and even a portable power station. But now travel is more viable on a regular basis, I’ve started looking at some of the hybrid charging options and Belkin has one I’ll be looking more closely at once it’s available.
Take a look at the BoostCharge Hybrid Wall Charger + Power Bank 5K with Travel Adapter Kit with me.
As the name suggests, it’s a wall charger that also stores 5,000mAh in an onboard battery when you take it out of the wall. Leaving you with the capacity to continue charging your devices, even when you need to get moving again. Perhaps the best bit for travellers is the interchangeable global plugs (US/EU/AU/UK) included in the kit.
The design of the charger means you can simultaneously charge two mobile devices — 1 x USB-C and 1 x USB-A port — from it; whether the charger is in the wall or not. The charging speeds offered are 25W via USB-C on from the wall, or 20W from the battery. No, it’s not going to manage some of the more power hungry laptops, but its certainly going to do the job for you keeping your mobile and, or tablet charged while you’re on the move.
Jamie Laing-Reece, Head of Product Management, Belkin ANZ spoke about the device release
In what will be a huge year of new product introductions for Belkin, our latest two-in-one hybrid charger stands tall as a solution that delivers the best in charging technology, delivered in a robust and beautiful design
Continuing the green focus from early last year, the BoostCharge hybrid charger is made with a minimum of 75% post-consumer recycled (PCR) plastics. A process that, at this time is costing more on production but not resulting in higher prices to the consumer. Added to this is the 100% plastic free packaging, so well done Belkin!
If a hybrid charger is something you’re looking to pick up soon, then you can do so through the usual (JB Hi-Fi and Belkin online) channels for $119.95
