Accomplished in 2022, the house was a pandemic-era mission for which Ariel Ashe and Reinaldo Leandro say they have been roughly given carte blanche. Requested what the directive was from Seth and Alexi, Ariel says, “We’ve got labored with them so many occasions that they didn’t have one!”
The brand new construct sits within the city of Chilmark on Martha’s Winery, on a plot of land straight abutting Seth’s dad and mom’ summer season dwelling. The intense hue of the cedar planks (they skipped the extra conventional cedar shingles to offer the house a contemporary aptitude) that wrap the barn-like construction displays the house’s newness. (Ariel explains that it’ll climate to a grey to match the Martha’s Winery vernacular.) Within the meantime, the body of the house was constructed with reclaimed timber, which was largely left uncovered within the inside and gives a beautiful patina to the areas that look far past their years.
