After a decade in growth, “Jujutsu Kaisen” helmer Park Sunghoo is readying “Bullet/Bullet,” a high-stakes anime collection premiering completely on Disney+.
The post-apocalyptic journey follows Gear, a junk seller with a secret double life as a thief. Partnering with Qu-0213, a multi-personality robotic, and Shirokuma, a gambling-addicted polar bear, the trio operates as elite thieves-for-hire till rescuing a mysterious woman places them on a collision course with their society’s energy construction.
Park, who lately received greatest authentic anime on the Crunchyroll Anime Awards, directs from a script by Aki Kindaichi (“Uma Musume: Cinderella Gray”). The manufacturing options character designs by chief animation director Takahiro Yoshimatsu (“Future GPX Cyber Method,” “Hunter x Hunter”) and idea/mechanical designs from Hidetaka Tenjin (“Cell Go well with Gundam,” “Macross”).
Marina Inoue (“Assault on Titan,” “Smile PreCure!”) voices protagonist Gear, with Kazuhiro Yamaji (“Psycho-Cross,” “One-Punch Man”) as Shirokuma. The forged additionally contains Rie Kugimiya (“Gintama,” “Fullmetal Alchemist”) as Nosa-Nee and Kana Hanazawa (“Quintessential Quintuplets,” “Psycho-Cross”) as Kaw-Nee.
Rapper Chanmina contributes the opening theme “Work Exhausting,” whereas Tokyo rock band Newspeak gives ending theme “Glass Door.”
Disney+ will launch the 16-episode collection in two components, with the primary eight episodes dropping July 16 and the ultimate eight arriving August 13. The collection joins Disney+’s increasing APAC originals slate alongside “Tokyo Revengers,” “Murai in Love,” “Phoenix: Eden17,” “Medalist” and live-action thriller “Gannibal.”
Park beforehand directed the primary season of “Jujutsu Kaisen” and its theatrical movie, in addition to “The God of Excessive College.” The brand new collection marks his first authentic anime venture in years.
