For Marco Bicego, goldsmithing is a generational artwork. The Italian designer, who inherited the craft from his father, launched his eponymous line in 2000—and now, 25 years later, he’s celebrating a quarter-century of high-quality jewellery. To mark the event, Bicego hosted an intimate dinner at Mom Wolf, the in-demand Italian eatery in Los Angeles, joined by buddies of the model.
Tucked away in a personal room on the West Hollywood hotspot, the night started with cocktails and a curated show of Bicego’s most iconic items—together with a number of from the model’s founding years. “It’s the timeless items that I’m most enthusiastic about,” Bicego advised Vogue. “Not what’s new.” Among the many standouts: a dome-shaped, diamond-encrusted cocktail ring, designs that includes his signature twisted gold chains, and an $89,000 necklace composed of irregularly formed, brushed gold spheres.
After drinks and hors d’oeuvres, friends—together with Kate Hudson, Mindy Kaling, and stylist Karla Welch—sat for a family-style dinner. The menu opened with golden-fried risotto croquettes (Supplì al Telefono) and delicate squash blossoms (Fiori di Zucca), adopted by a variety of pizza and pasta, and a most important course of branzino. Tiramisu and scoops of gelato rounded out the meal.
As candles flickered and dessert made its remaining move, friends acquired present luggage to mark the milestone—as a result of what’s a twenty fifth birthday with out a little one thing candy?
