New Europe Film Sales has acquired “The best way to Divorce Throughout the Struggle,” the third characteristic by Lithuanian director Andrius Blaževičius, forward of its world premiere within the Sundance Film Festival’s World Cinema Dramatic Competitors.
New Europe described the movie as “a pointy, emotionally resonant drama laced with irony.” It’s “a portrait of a Europe caught between worry and denial, solidarity and fatigue, beliefs and luxury.”
Set in Vilnius in 2022, it’s a narrative of a high-flying govt Marija, who chooses the worst attainable second for an trustworthy dialog together with her husband Vytas about divorcing – simply in the future earlier than Russia’s invasion of Ukraine goes into full scale. Now the couple should navigate the method of separation because it collides with a refugee and mid-life disaster.

The venture participated within the New Nordic Movies Co-Manufacturing Market and the Berlinale Co-Manufacturing Market.
Blaževičius beforehand gained worldwide recognition with “The Saint” (Warsaw and Busan movie festivals) and “Runner” (Karlovy Range Movie Pageant).

New Europe’s slate consists of Dara van Dusen’s upcoming “A Prayer for the Dying,” starring Johnny Flynn and John C. Reilly, Jeremiah Zagar’s “The Painted Bride,” starring Jeremy Allen White, in addition to two opponents for the worldwide characteristic movie Oscar – Hlynur Pálmason’s “The Love That Stays” (Iceland) and Laszlo Nemes’ “Orphan” (Hungary).
