On 30 April, the US embassy in Beirut steered a gathering between Lebanon’s President Joseph Aoun and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu would give Lebanon “the prospect to safe concrete ensures on full sovereignty, territorial integrity, safe borders, humanitarian and reconstruction help, and the whole restoration of Lebanese state authority over each inch of its territory”.
